With a giant new slide, your next adventure is at Aventura Mall

The luxury Aventura Mall, considered one of Miami’s top shopping destinations with around 30 million visitors per year, celebrated the opening of its newest attraction, the “Aventura Slide Tower,” on December 15. You can experience the adventure sliding through a 93-foot-tall glass and steel tubular tower designed by German sculptor Carsten Höller and the Miami firm Permuy Architecture.

The slide is one of the features of the mall’s newest expansion, which will cost $214 million. Designed by renowned architect Carlos Zapata, the new wing will create a welcoming connection between the internal and external environments, highlighted by art and sculptures. Other additions to the wing include a rooftop garden, a luxurious food hall, a 7,000-square-foot VIP lounge available for private events, a covered parking garage and plenty of renowned new tenants.

Some of the new occupants include the anticipated return of Zara with a two-level 34,000-square-foot store, Burberry, Topshop Topman store, the first Florida location of the British brand, plus a Tesla auto store.

To ride the free slide, first you must climb a nine-story stair, and at the top you lie on your back atop a slide mat. The high-speed stomach-dropping takes about 15 seconds, and you need to be at least 44-inches tall to try it out. To guarantee safety, four mall employees will guarantee your ride goes easily.
