First look: Royal Caribbean’s new PortMiami cruise terminal is nearly completed

Take a first look at the ‘Crown of Miami,’ Royal Caribbean’s new 170,000-square-foot cruise terminal only a few weeks away from opening, scheduled for November.

The architecture firm BroadwayMalyan is responsible for the design considered as a landmark building for the port. The design evokes to what seems to be a crown when passing by on the water side and the ‘M’ of Miami when viewed from the east or western approaches, there is also a sense of waves rising or ships passing when seen from the terminal side.

The cruise terminal will become home to massive cruise ships, such as Allure of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, with passenger count for RCL expected to more than double. The company had previously reported that the terminal cost $200 million.
