Construction of the largest mall of America is moving full speed ahead

The construction of America’s largest mall is coming closer, according to a lobbyist and lawyer for developer Triple Five. In addition to the sewer project for the site being in an advanced stage, bids are being awaited until the end of the month for a state contract to extend the Turnpike and add capacity.

A site plant has not yet been sent to the county, but experts say the wait is reasonable, as a project of this magnitude takes time to be designed.

The project in the city of Miami will include 7.2 million square feet with towers as tall as 50 stories. It will consist of restaurants, retail area, the world’s largest indoor ski slope, skating rink, walkable aquarium, ice-climbing wall, live theater venues for Russian ballet and Chinese acrobats, plus 2,000 hotel rooms.

The developer is also building American Dream Meadowlands in New York; the project is almost 85 percent complete, with an opening set for September.
